The music available from the West One Music catalogue is protected by copyright laws throughout the world, and may not be used without a licence.

Within the UK, usage of our music - including in television, film, radio, online or non-broadcast productions - requires a licence from the MCPS.

The licensing rates for our exclusive music vary depending on the type of usage. For more information, please get in touch with the team at our Head Office in London.

The performing rights for West One Music are licensed through the PRS. An additional licence is required for broadcast or public performance of our works. Please see the PRS for Music website or give us a call if you're unsure.

What is production music?

Production music (or library music) is music specifically written for inclusion in audiovisual productions. It is a convenient, high quality and cost effective alternative to commercial music.

What are the advantages of using production music?

Production music from West One Music is composed specifically for use with audiovisual productions, and is available in a variety of moods and lengths to meet the needs of any creative production.

There are no pre-clearance formalities involved in its use. Unlike commercial music, licences for our music cover the right to reproduce the musical work, sound recording and artist performance - all the rights normally required by a production company.

The music is licensed according to the rates published in the MCPS Production Music Rate Card - enabling you to budget accurately.

Gaining the necessary licence is a simple process with a minimal amount of paperwork. You can register as an authorised user of production music and submit your licence applications online at: PRS for Music

How do I get your music?

Tell us how you'd like to receive our music, and chances are we can do it! Search the whole catalogue online here, or we can send you CDs, or give us a call on +44 (0)20 7907 1500 and one of our music consultants will help you find the perfect track for your production.

How do I licence your music in the UK and how much does it cost?

How do I licence your music from outside the UK?

To license West One Music production music from outside the UK you need to contact our local agent for your country. Please see our contacts page for details.

Registration

By registering to use our online production music catalogue you agree to receive periodic email updates from West One Music.

These emails will never occur more than twice per month. More commonly these will occur only monthly.
